Peggy Mira

With a voice that sends those intangible chills running through your body, Peggy Mira has an innate ability to capture the essence of each song. A versatile vocalist, she brings warmth and sophistication to a repertoire of adult contemporary pop, enduring classics, jazz, blues, and bossa nova.

Peggy has performed at popular San Diego venues such as The iconic Hotel Del Coronado, Carlsbad’s New Village Arts Theatre, urban winery La Mesa Wine Works, and the waterfront hotspot Seaport Village.  She has worked with Peter Spraque [San Diego Music Hall of Fame] who co-produced two of her holiday releases.

Peggy’s connection with music began when her grandparents gave the family their piano. She took lessons from their neighbor in exchange for eggs from her family’s chickens. She discovered that being with music was the one place where she felt at home. 

Her father played a variety of music during dinnertime, entertaining the family by spinning elaborate tales about his favorite musicians. “I was drawn in by the romantic allure of his storytelling,” she says. “One of his favorite story lines was of musicians who abandoned everything and ran away with gypsies.” Those early narratives left a lasting imprint on her creative spirit.

When she sings, the room falls completely still. Conversations fade, movement stops, and every eye turns to the sound of her voice. In these suspended moments each person is quietly connected. This powerful exchange is why Peggy sings; being with a live audience, searching for faces to connect with and hearts to touch.
